About Me
My name is Christine Lynch and this is my 5th year teaching first grade at
Pingree Primary. I have taught every grade from kindergarten through twelfth
grade except for seventh and eighth. My favorite is first grade because
I love to teach reading. I am a lifelong Weymouth resident.
I live in the house I grew up in and I attended Weymouth Public Schools,
as well as Sacred Heart High School in Weymouth Landing. I received
my undergraduate degree from Boston University with a BS in
Childhood and Curriculum and a teaching certificate in mathematics.
I received my Master's degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
I also hold certification to teach Orton-Gillingham Reading
from Massachusetts General Hospital, and a WRS Level I certificate from
Wilson Language Training. I have been blessed with a great husband
for over 30 years, Joe, who grew up in Dublin, Ireland. I also have been
fortunate to have three beautiful children. My daughter, Samantha, is the
most caring, wonderful nurse you would ever be lucky enough to meet.
She works with cancer patients at the Dana Farber here in Weymouth.
My son Matthew graduated from Brandeis University and works for a
financial firm in Boston. He played soccer for Weymouth High School,
and was the goalkeeper in one of the most exciting semi-finals ever to
take place in Weymouth. My ‘Peter Pan”, Robbie, wanted to always be
a Weymouth Wildcat playing on the soccer field, too. Today, he has
ventured from “Neverland” and is a junior at Brandeis University.
He has followed in his older brother’s footsteps. He still retains his
love for soccer and has become a Brandeis Judge on the soccer field.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and reading. I love to work out
and have spent considerable time learning to eat healthy. My one pitfall
is Oreo Fresh Mint cookies. I have a love of ALL Boston sports, always
love spending time with my family, and a passion for teaching. My favorite
color is yellow. I'm fortunate to be working with wonderful parents, students,
and fellow teaching team members!
My Goal for the Class
My goal is for my students to learn to read, write, and do math in twenty-first century
style, but more importantly be caring, thoughtful, and kind human beings to all that
they meet. Together, we will strive to build a classroom community full of a wide variety
of enriching opportunities in a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.
